Oxford Street West near Westdel Bourne Road to remain closed

An early morning crash that took place Wednesday in the northwest corner of the city may cause traffic problems until sometime Thursday.

At around 6 a.m., London police were called about a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Oxford Street West and Riverbend Road. Several hydro poles were downed and strewn across the road following the crash, which prompted crews to close Oxford Street between Kains Road and Westdel Bourne Road.

No injuries have been reported.

In an update provided by police at around 5 p.m. Wednesday, officials said the area will remain closed until an unspecified time on Thursday.

Motorists are asked to find an alternate route around the area, and pedestrians are advised to avoid the scene due to possible live wires.
