Child dies after falling from apartment balcony

The London Police Service and the Office of the Chief Coroner are investigating the death of a child who fell from an apartment building balcony Saturday afternoon.

Police said officers and paramedics responded to a 911 call around 12:30 p.m. to a residence in the area of Lyle Street and King Street, where a young child was found with life-threatening injuries after falling from a balcony.

Despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, the child was pronounced dead.

Police ask the public and media to respect the privacy of the family at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
