UPDATE: London man killed in crash involving stolen vehicle

Elgin County OPP are investigating a fatal collision involving a stolen vehicle with a cyclist in Malahide Township.

At around 4:50 p.m. Saturday, emergency crews were called to a collision northeast of St. Thomas on Wilson Line east of Belmont Road.

Police said the cyclist was hit by a stolen vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.

The man has been identified as 58-year-old Michael Smith of London.

Police said three parties were located, arrested, and charged with the help of West Region Canine and West Region Emergency Response Team members.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is investigating.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
