Motorcyclist hospitalized following crash near Tillsonburg

A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash east of Tillsonburg.

The Ontario Provincial Police said a motorcycle and pickup truck collided at the intersection of Highway 3 and Rhineland Road in Courtland, on Saturday at around 1:40 p.m.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 59-year-old from St. Thomas, was rushed to a local hospital before being airlifted to a London area hospital for further treatment. The motorcyclist's injuries are said to be life-altering.

The driver of the pickup truck, an 82-year-old from Norwich Township, was taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures, police said.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding this crash is ongoing and police said more information will be released as it becomes available.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
