21 candidates seek Ward 6 seat

A total of 21 people have submitted their names for consideration to fill the vacant Ward 6 seat on London City Council.

The seat became vacant when then-Councillor Phil Squire resigned due to his appointment to the  Consent and Capacity board, a provincial panel. Accepting the position left Squire ineligible to sit on municipal council.

The applications will be reviewed and a candidate chosen by city councillors at Monday's meeting of the Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee.

The 21 candidates are:

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
