COVID-19 cases identified at six London-area Thames Valley schools

The Thames Valley District school board has reported COVID-19 cases at six London-area schools.

Confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases were identified at CC Carrothers Public School, Glendale High School, JS Buchanan FI Public School, Mary Wright Public School, Port Burwell Public School, and Woodstock Collegiate Institute, the school board announced Friday evening.

All staff and parents at the schools were notified, the board said.

"If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley indicating the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered to be at risk," the board said in a news release. "Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 10 days."

Area health units are investigating the cases to identify close contacts and following up to provide testing advice.
