Woman dies in hospital after hit-and-run in east London

A woman who was hit by a vehicle in the city's east end earlier this week has died in the hospital.

The woman was struck on Spruce Street near Wavell Street at around 9:40 p.m. on November 10 and was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

In a news release on Sunday, London police confirmed the girl died in hospital on Thursday, November 11.

Police said the female’s identity will not be released to the public at the request of her family.

The car that struck the woman is described as a newer-style silver sedan that may have damage to the passenger side mirror and body of the vehicle.

Anyone in the area at the time of the crash, or who may have dash-cam or security footage that could help with the investigation is urged to call London police at 519-661-5670.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
