Driver identified following fatal collision in Elgin County

Elgin County OPP have identified the driver who was killed in a fatal collision on Ron McNeil Line Thursday morning.

According to police, two vehicles collided on Ron McNeil Line just east of Highbury Avenue around 8:45 a.m.

Officers say two people were taken to hospital, where one was pronounced dead.

Police have now identified the deceased as 22-year-old Olivia Vaseleniuck.

The driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.

Elgin County OPP and the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team continue to investigate.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
