TVDSB reports another COVID-19 outbreak

Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) officials reported new COVID-19 cases at eight more schools on Friday, including another school outbreak.

The TVDSB reported the outbreak at Tecumseh Public School in London after three cases were linked to the school. Additional cases were reported at:

• Saunders Secondary School • Straffordville Public School • Mountsfield Public School • Woodland Heights Public School • South Ridge Public School • Central Public School • Summers Corners Public School

The school board said it notified all staff, students, and parents of the cases immediately and sent out letters to some families identifying them as a close contact.

"Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 10 days," a release from the TVDSB read.

New positive COVID-19 cases in London-Middlesex went up by 38 on Friday, a number that has not been recorded in the region since the late summer.

Since Wednesday, the TVDSB has reported 21 new COVID-19 cases. More details about the cases can be found on the school board's website.
