London's latest homicide victim identified

Police have identified the 56-year-old London man who died after being found with critical injuries inside of a boarding house on Wharncliffe Road.

Kenneth Wayne Wallis was found by emergency crews suffering from multiple lacerations at the home at 256 Wharncliffe Rd. South around 11 p.m. on Wednesday. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

Although a cause of death has not been publicly released, London police ruled Willis' death a homicide.

Robert Charnock, 40, of London was arrested and charged with second degree murder. He made his first court appearance on Thursday and was remanded into custody.

Willis is the city's fourteenth homicide victim of 2021. Charges have been laid in all of the cases, except the shooting death of Lynda Cruz Marques. The 30-year-old was sitting in a vehicle at a home on Wateroak Drive in the Hyde Park area on September 10 when she was shot. She died from her injuries in hospital. Police have said Cruz Marques was targeted.
