UPDATE: Firefighter injured in west London blaze, damaged pegged at $1M

A London firefighter had to be taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries after a blaze at a west London townhouse.

Fire crews were called to 495 Oakridge Drive around 6 a.m. Tuesday. According to the fire department, the firefighter was treated at hospital and has since been released.

No other injuries have been reported, and the fire department said around 9 a.m. that the blaze had been brought under control.

In a update released Tuesday afternoon, investigators have deemed the fire as suspicious and have since turned the incident over to the London Police Service's Street Crime Unit.

Damage is estimated to be around $1-million. The investigation is ongoing.

Riverside Drive west of Wonderland Road was closed for several hours while fire crews battled the blaze, but the area has since reopened.
