Thieves snatch $200K in brass from Elgin trucking company

Provincial police are hoping the public can help them track down a transport truck and two trailers loaded with $200,000 worth of brass that were stolen over the weekend from an Elgin County trucking company.

The 2009 Volvo big rig and two silver trailers, each containing loads of brass, were snatched from Tapsell Trucking on Talbot Line sometime between 3 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

The transport is maroon with Ontario licence plate number 6448PV. The words "Tapsell Trucking" are written on the side of the truck. The two missing Reitnouer Max trailers have red side racks and are covered with black tarps. The licence plate numbers of the two trailers are B7991R and E6384C.
