Gun fired during Christmas day robbery

Provincial police are looking for three suspects who allegedly fired a gun during an attempted robbery at a Melbourne business on Christmas day.

Using a pickup truck, three people tried to get inside of the unnamed business on Melbourne Road around 6:30 a.m. last Saturday. The trio were interrupted by the owner of the business which prompted one of the suspects to discharge a firearm, police said.

The suspects then took off in the pickup which was found abandoned nearby shortly after.

No injuries were reported.

One of the suspects is described as being male, average size with an athletic build. He was wearing an Adidas hoodie, black hat, and face mask. The second suspect is described as an average size man who was wearing a black skeleton costume and a face mask. There was no description of the third suspect.

Police are asking anyone with information or video surveillance that shows the suspects to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
