London's first baby of the year is a boy

London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) announced that the first baby delivered in 2022 is a boy.

Mom, Christine Elgar, and dad, Ben Monis, welcomed baby Niall at 12:01 a.m.

The hospital reported that both mom and baby are doing well.

To welcome the first baby of 2022, the pharmacist-owners of London and area Shoppers Drug Mart stores have donated a large gift basket to the family.

From April 2020 to November 2021, LHSC welcomed 9,770 “pandemic births”.
