Man stabbed in St. Thomas parking lot

Charges have been laid against a St. Thomas woman after a man was stabbed in a downtown parking lot in the city over the weekend.

St. Thomas police and paramedics were called to the lot on Saturday where they found a man suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A suspect in the incident was quickly identified by police who made an arrest at a nearby residence.

A search of the home by officers with the criminal investigations and street crime units turned up "property related to the offence," police said.

A St. Thomas woman has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
