Sawed-off shotgun seized from east London home

A 60-year-old London man is facing charges after a sawed-off shotgun was seized during a raid by police at an east-end home.

Officers with the London police guns and gangs section, emergency response unit, and canine unit searched the home on Lorne Avenue east of English Street on Wednesday. Inside, police found a .410 sawed-off shotgun and one round of ammunition.

A London man, who was wanted on outstanding bench warrants, was arrested. He is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon or prohibited device knowing no authority, careless storage of a firearm or ammunition, and tampering with the serial number of a firearm.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on Thursday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
