Suspicious death under investigation

London police have launched an investigation after the discovery of a body inside a vehicle set on fire.

Officers were called to the area of Manning Drive between White Oak Road and Wonderland Road South around 9 p.m. Saturday and found the body of a deceased person inside the burning vehicle.

Police said the person died at the scene.

"The investigation is in early stages in cooperation with the Regional Coroner’s Office and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office," police said in a news release issued early Sunday morning.

The area will remain closed throughout Sunday morning and should be avoided by the public.
