Crews battle Richmond Tavern fire

London fire crews were called into action Tuesday morning when fire broke out at a downtown tavern.

The London Fire Department responded to the Richmond Tavern at 370 Richmond Street, where fire broke out in an interior wall.

It didn't take long for crews to bring the situation under control and no injuries were reported.

Richmond Street was closed in both directions just north of King Street as an investigation into the cause of the fire got underway.

There has been no estimate yet of the extent of the damage.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
