Man tried to coax Norwich teen into van

Provincial police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to convince a 13-year-old girl in Norwich to get into his vehicle.

The teen was walking alone in the area of Washington and Main streets around 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday when a minivan pulled up alongside her.

The driver attempted to "coerce" the girl to get into the front seat, Oxford OPP said.

The teen did not get in and instead ran away.

The vehicle, described as an older model silver or grey minivan with a rounded front grill and a black roof rack, was last seen heading west on Main Street.

The driver is described as a man, possibly in his 60s, with a thin build and grey hair.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
