School buses cancelled in Elgin County

School buses in Elgin County will stay parked for a third consecutive day.

MyBigYellowBus.ca announced Friday all buses in Elgin, including those headed to schools in St. Thomas, are cancelled for the day.

While the snow has finally stopped falling across the region, roads remain snow-covered and slick.

Schools within the London District Catholic school board remain open despite the bus cancellations. The Thames Valley District school board has closed schools in Elgin, switching students to online learning for the day. The school board announced late last month that when inclement weather leads to bus cancellations schools in the affected regions would be closed for the day to ensure the safety of students and staff. School buses in London, Middlesex County, and Oxford County will be running Friday. All weather advisories for the area from Environment Canada have been lifted.
