St. Thomas police investigating multiple assault cases

The St. Thomas Police Service (STPS) began an investigation on February 1, 2022, into a historical sexual assault.

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old male was charged with one count of sexual assault.

Police said that on Saturday, February 12, the man turned himself in.

He was later released with a future court date.

The STPS also began investigating a man for bail violations on Sunday.

The man has previously been charged for offences relating to intimate partner violence and during the investigation, police said that they discovered that another assault had also taken place.

As a result, a 35-year-old man is now wanted for assault causing bodily harm and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
