Hit and run victim identified

London police have released the name of a pedestrian who died after being hit in what police allege was an alcohol-fuelled hit and run.

Police say Richard James McMahon, 39, of London was pronounced dead in hospital after being hit on Oxford Road West near Hyde Park Road on the night of February 8.

On Thursday, February 10 police announced charges in connection with the incident. David Charles MacMicken, 50, of London is charged with impaired driving causing death, impaired driving causing death exceeding blood alcohol concentration, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death.

MacMicken is to appear in court on March 9.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
