Assault charge laid after disturbance at St. Thomas apartment

A disturbance between tenants at a St. Thomas apartment building ended with a 56-year-old woman charged with assault.

St. Thomas police were called to the building on Princess Avenue around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Two women had got into an argument in the hallway that escalated when one woman allegedly assaulted the other.

A 56-year-old woman was arrested without incident. She is charged with one count of assault and has been released from police custody with a future court date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
