OPP identify man killed in Princeton garage fire

Provincial police have identified the man killed in a garage fire last month in Oxford County.

George Townsend, 59, died after fire broke out inside the detached structure on Victoria Street in Princeton around 9:30 a.m. on February 4.

Fire crews from Princeton, Drumbo, Paris, and Burford were called to battle the blaze and were able to keep it from spreading to other nearby buildings.

Townsend's body was found inside after the fire was extinguished.

The investigation is ongoing, OPP said.
