Police looking for man who tried to coax teen into van

Provincial police are searching for a man who allegedly tried to lure a teenager into a van in Ingersoll.

Oxford OPP were called about the suspicious vehicle on Charles Street around 8:45 p.m. on Thursday. Police determined the van pulled up alongside the 14-year-old and attempted to convince the teen to get inside.

The driver is described as a man with a dark complexion, between 20 to 40 years old, with dark hair, and an accent. The vehicle was a dirty, older model white utility van that possibly has black painted graffiti.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
