'It’s just awesome': London man wins $400K

A London man has been struck by lightning, but not the meteorological kind.

Patryk Wytwer won the top prize in the February 2 Lightning Lotto draw. The grand prize had grown to $401,725.20 before it was claimed by the London father.

"It was not part of my usual purchases – I normally play LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX,” Wytwer said while picking up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I was speechless. Time stood still.”

Wytwer has no immediate plans for his six-figure lottery win. He said he will save it for a rainy day.

"It’s just awesome," said Wytwer.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Happy Days Mini Mart on Aldersbrook Road in London.
