Impaired driving charge laid in fatal Tillsonburg crash

A Langton man is accused of impaired driving after a crash that saw another man killed when he was ejected and hit by a moving vehicle in Tillsonburg.

The single-vehicle collision happened on Lisgar Avenue around 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

Oxford OPP determined Wyatt Chambers, 26, of Tillsonburg, was thrown from a vehicle he was a passenger in and then struck by it. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle initially left, but returned later and was arrested, police said.

Kyle Cuthburt, 24, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death and impaired driving causing death. He is in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

The collision kept a section of Lisgar Avenue closed for roughly six hours while police investigated.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
