Police looking for 'suspicious' vehicle that followed teen

Provincial police are trying to track down the driver of a vehicle that was seen following a 14-year-old in Ingersoll.

The teen was walking north on Thames Street around 2:30 p.m. last Friday when a light coloured smaller vehicle with tinted windows began driving slowly alongside her.

The incident came one day after a man tried to coax a 14-year-old to get inside his van on Charles Street.

"Residents are reminded to be aware of their surroundings at all times, and are encouraged to report any suspicious activity at the time," Oxford OPP said in a statement issued on Thursday.

Anyone who may have witnessed either incident is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
