London high school locked down, replica gun seized

London police seized a replica gun after a young man believed to have a firearm was spotted in the southeast-end.

The report of the armed individual on Millbank Drive came in just before noon on Friday. As a precaution, nearby Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School was placed in a 'hold and secure' while officers searched the area.

Around 1 p.m., police arrested a suspect in the area of West Street and Gladman Avenue. A replica gun was seized during a search.

There were no reported injuries and no threats were made, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
