Visibility issues possible due to blowing snow

If you have travel plans on Saturday, you may want to give yourself extra time.

Environment Canada issued a blowing snow advisory late Friday evening for parts of London and Middlesex County as well as eastern Lambton County.

"The passage of a cold front early Saturday morning will usher in colder air along with brisk northwest winds," the weather agency stated. "Lake effect flurries and blowing snow will develop Saturday morning with the worst conditions expected in the afternoon."

Travel could become hazardous due to potential whiteouts in some areas. Motorists are advised to slow down and be aware of their surroundings.

Conditions are expected to improve later Saturday evening.
