Aylmer man assaulted with baseball bat, metal bar

Four people, including two 15-year-olds, have been charged after a violent robbery that left a 45-year-old Aylmer man with serious injuries.

Aylmer police were called to a home on Sydenham Street East just before 3 p.m. on Friday. When they arrived they found the man with serious injuries to his right arm, back, and face. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police determined two men and two women showed up at the home and got into an argument with the 45-year-old. The confrontation turned physical with a baseball bat and metal angle iron being used to assault the man. His cellphone was also stolen during the incident.

A 33-year-old woman, a 44-year-old man, and a 15-year-old girl from Aylmer and a 15-year-old boy from St. Thomas have been charged with aggravated assault and robbery with violence.

An additional charge of assault with a weapon has been laid against the 33-year-old, while the 15-year-old boy is also charged with two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking.
