Woodstock woman charged in daylight break-in

A break and enter in broad daylight at a new home in Woodstock has led to charges being laid against a 42-year-old woman.

Woodstock police were called about the break-in on Devonshire Avenue just before 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Officers found the front door to the home significantly damaged. A woman tried to run from the scene, but was followed by police.

She was taken into custody after allegedly resisting arrest.

A 42-year-old Woodstock woman is charged with breaking and entering a dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence and resisting a peace officer.

No injuries were reported.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
