Fog slows drivers across much of southwestern Ontario

Thick fog made for a slower than normal commute across much of southwestern Ontario Wednesday morning.

The fog rolled in late Tuesday night prompting Environment Canada to issue an advisory that stretched from Windsor to Chatham-Kent to London and Middlesex County, through Oxford Country and Norfolk County and into the GTA.

At times visibility was reduced to near zero. Roads and sidewalks became slick as the below freezing temperature caused the fog to deposit ice on untreated surfaces.

Drivers were advised to slow down and make sure their vehicle's entire exterior lighting system was switched on.

The fog didn't burn off until after noon.
