Firefighters rescue dog from Sifton Bog

It was a ruff start to the day Thursday for a dog that had to be rescued by London firefighters from the Sifton Bog.

The pup, named Lucy, went into the frigid waters around 9:30 a.m.

Reportedly, she had decided to investigate some nearby geese when the ice on the bog gave way.

Firefighters arrived with an inflatable raft and were able to pull Lucy from the water without incident.

She has now been reunited with her owner.

The incident prompted the London Fire Department to issue a reminder on social media that no ice is safe to be on at this time of year.
