St. Thomas man allegedly sent child pornography to coworkers

Charges have been laid against a St. Thomas man accused of sending a video containing child pornography to his work colleagues.

The disturbing video was sent to employees of an unnamed company through a group chat on the digital messaging service WhatsApp.

The man's coworkers notified St. Thomas police after receiving the file. The man later turned himself in.

A 43-year-old man is charged with possession of child pornography and distributing child pornography. He has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges at a later date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
