Suspicious person call results in charges

The Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspicious person on 43rd Line near Zorra Township on Saturday morning.

Police said they received the call at approximately  5:25 a.m. and that when they arrived at the property they found a 30-year-old man with his vehicle stuck in the mud.

Following an investigation, the Kitchener man faces the following charges:

• Break and Enter

• Trespassing at Night

• Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

• Possession of Break In Instruments

• Possess Counterfeit Instruments

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

• Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2

The man is expected to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
