Charges laid in east end shooting

A 73-year-old London man faces charges after a shooting at a home on Egerton Street.

Emergency crews were called to the home around 4:35 p.m. Wednesday and found a 59-year-old man suffering from multiple injuries. The man was rushed to hospital in critical condition with injuries described as "non-life threatening."

An investigation by London police has led to charges against Wilfred E. Pollard, 73, of London. He is charged with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, handling a firearm in a careless manner, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Police say the suspect and victim knew each other.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
