Two 19-year-old women charged after shots fired from vehicle

Charges have been laid against two London women after multiple shots were fired from a moving vehicle in the southeast end.

A man told London police he was on Highbury Avenue near Commissioners Road East just before 7 a.m. on Saturday when he saw a person in another vehicle fire two rounds from a handgun. As the vehicle drove onto the off-ramp an additional round was shot into the air.

The man provided police with a photo of the vehicle and the firearm and the vehicle's licence plate number.

Officers found evidence that a gun had been fired in the area and went to a residence associated with the suspect vehicle, police said.

Two 19-year-old women were arrested without incident. They are both charged with occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm and were scheduled to appear in London court on Monday.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed or has dash-cam footage of the incident to call them at 519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
