Morning fire leaves north London business with $100K damage

London fire officials are probing the cause of an early morning fire at a north-end chiropractor's office.

The blaze broke out at the house that has been converted into a business at 616 Tennent Avenue just after 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday

"[Firefighters] arrived very quickly and found a heavy fire and smoke coming from the building," said Platoon Chief Gary Mosburger. "Our crews deployed hose line to extinguish the fire and conducted search and rescue operations within the building."

No one was inside at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

Damage is estimated between $80,000 and $100,000.

Mosburger said it is too early to comment on a possible cause of the fire and whether it may be suspicious in nature.

"Our fire prevention investigator was contacted to attend and is on scene working with our partners at the London Police Service to determine the origin, cause and circumstances of that fire," said Mosburger.
