Doctor assaulted in St. Thomas

Charges have been laid after a doctor was assaulted in St. Thomas.

St. Thomas police were called to an unnamed medical facility in the south-end on Saturday.

Officers determined a physician was attacked by a patient.

There is no word on whether the doctor suffered any injuries.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with assault.

The incident came just days after a hospital employee at the London Health Sciences Centre was attacked with a hammer and a knife. The worker suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries in the unprovoked assault last Thursday at Victoria Hospital. A 35-year-old London man was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
