Teens charged in Strathoy playground arson

Three people face charges after fire was set to playground equipment in Strathroy.

Strathroy-Caradoc police say a call came in around 12:30 a.m. on May 12 about some young people starting a hydro pole on fire on Oak Avenue. A second call came in about a fire in a garden at a home on Oak Avenue.

Responding officers found another fire, this one on the playground equipment at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic School on McKellar Street. There was fire damage at two other locations on the school property.

Police say they arrested a 15-year-old girl near the school and a 19-year-old woman who was running from the scene on Oak Avenue.

A 14-year-old boy was later arrested.

Police say the three are each charged with four counts of arson with damage to property.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
