Southwest London shooting leaves man seriously injured

A shooting in southwest London early Wednesday morning has left a man in critical condition.

London police were called to the shooting at a home on Ladybrook Crescent west of Viscount Road around 1:30 a.m. An adult man was found in the home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to hospital with what police describe as a "critical injury."

No other information about the shooting or a possible suspect have been released.

The investigation is in its preliminary stages, police said.

A neighbour, who did not want to give her name, said she did not hear the gunshot but was woken by the large police presence.

"I looked out my window and saw all of these cops. There were cruisers and a man being carried out to an ambulance on a stretcher."

She said a man and woman live in the townhouse where the shooting occurred and that they frequently have visitors.

"This is really scary," she added.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
