City spray pads to open Saturday

London families looking to get some relief from the hot, humid weather will be able to do so at city spray pads starting this long weekend.

The City of London announced its 17 spray pads will open for the season on Saturday. The pads will then be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. going forward.

A list of the city’s spray pads and their activation buttons can be found by clicking here.

All 17 locations are free for public use.

In addition to the spray pads, the cooling misters at the North London Athletic Fields and Springbank Gardens will be operational this weekend.

"The cooling misters are a great way for park users, runners and cyclists to cool off while enjoying London’s amazing parks and trails," the city said in a statement issued Friday.

Environment Canada is calling for a day time high on Saturday of 27 C that will feel more like 34 C because of the humidity. Temperatures will return to more seasonal levels on Sunday and Monday with highs of 18 C and 17 C. There is a chance of rain forecast for every day this long weekend, except Monday.
