UPDATE: London Majors home opener evacuated by police

Friday night's home opener for the London Majors was not a hit after Labatt Park was evacuated.

At around 9:20 p.m. London police were called to the stadium for reports of a strong gas odour in the air.

A statement from the team confirmed that a propane leak is what caused the evacuation.

Police say two people went into medical distress and one of the individuals was taken to hospital by paramedics as a precaution.

The game was postponed at the top of the fifth inning, with London trailing the Kitchener Panthers 5-4.

The two teams will conclude the game on June 10, before their next scheduled match. The second game will go the full seven innings and start 30-45 minutes after the conclusion of the first.
