Aylmer man charged after teens threatened with machete

Charges have been laid against a 36-year-old man after three teenagers were threatened with a machete in Aylmer.

Aylmer police were called about a dispute involving four people on Talbot Street West just before 2 p.m. last Tuesday. Officers determined a 36-year-old man had got into an argument with a 17-year-old from Aylmer and two teens from Cambridge, aged 14 and 19.

"The dispute escalated when the 36-year-old male brandished a machete and threatened the three individuals with it," police said.

All four individuals were known to each other and have been involved in verbal disputes with each other in the past, added police.

An Aylmer man, 36, is charged with uttering threats.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
