Man charged after bomb threat at south-end store

Charges have been laid against a London man in connection with a bomb threat and assault at a south-end business over the weekend.

A man walked into the store on Southdale Road East west of Wellington Road just before 3 p.m. on Sunday and produced a note warning of a bomb. The man left before London police arrived.

A search of the area turned up nothing suspicious, police said.

Nearly three hours later, the man returned to the business and assaulted and threatened an employee before leaving again.

The employee suffered minor injuries.

Police were called and arrested a suspect nearby.

A 25-year-old London man has been charged with assault and uttering threats of death or bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on Tuesday.
