Assault in Southwold sends one person to hospital

One person was hurt in an assault in Southwold Township.

Elgin OPP were called to a home on Fingal Line in regard to an alleged assault around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers arrived to find a person suffering from “undetermined injuries." That individual was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police did not specify whether anyone was taken into custody, but said they do not believe there is a threat to public safety.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
