One dead after crash north of Aylmer

A passenger that was in one of two vehicles involved in a crash near Aylmer earlier this week has died from their injuries.

The collision happened Monday afternoon at around 12:40 p.m.

Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Imperial Road and Ron McNeil Line just north of Aylmer.

Paramedics took both drivers and one passenger from each vehicle to hospital to be treated for their injuries. Late Wednesday evening, OPP officials confirmed one of the passengers, a 91-year-old individual from Thames Centre, died in hospital on Tuesday from injuries they suffered during the crash.

The identity of the deceased is not being released while police notify their next of kin.

Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team (TIME) continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
