London man sought after shots fired in Pond Mills

Police are searching for a London man who is wanted in connection to an ongoing firearms investigation.

The incident happened Saturday at around 2:30 a.m.

London police responded to a business on Commissioners Road East and Pond Mills Road after gunshots were reportedly fired. A suspect accused of firing a gun took off before police arrived. No one was hurt during the altercation.

On Monday, investigators released a photo of the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ryan Vernal. A warrant has been issued for Vernal's arrest on charges of recklessly discharging a restricted firearm, possessing a restricted firearm without a licence and failing to comply with an undertaking.

Anyone with information about Vernal's whereabouts are asked to call the London Police Service at 519-661-5670. If the accused is seen in public, do not approach him, instead call 911 immediately.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
