Charges laid after south London gunfire

Police have made an arrest in connection with shots that were fired in a south London neighbourhood.

On the night of Sunday, June 12, police were called to Highland Avenue between Baseline Road and Commissioners Road after gunshots were heard. Officers that responded to the scene found evidence that a gun had been fired. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

On Friday, police announced that the Guns and Gangs Section, along with the Emergency Response Unit and Canine Unit, arrested a man on Brydges Street on Thursday and later searched a home on Highview Avenue.

According to police, they seized: -a loaded Glock semi-automatic handgun with an over-capacity magazine -four additional over-capacity magazines -a loaded FN 5.7 mm semi-automatic handgun with an over-capacity magazine -an additional loaded magazine for the FN 5.7 -ammunition

Tristan Gayle, 36, of London faces several firearms related charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
